Off to Turkey Hill

We're headed here this weekend so Dave can direct volleyball conference. Ethan is beyond excited. He loves camp, and his enthusiasm reminds me of how I felt every year before camp. In fact, this is the same campgrounds my parents took us every year since I was two.

This morning I overheard Ethan telling Simon, "On the first day of camp, I am going to climb a mountain."

"On the second day of camp, I am going to walk in the woods and see all the scary animals."

"On the third day of camp, I am going to shovel rocks into my bucket."

"On the fourth day of camp..."

Someday tell that kid we are only staying for the weekend! He would live at camp if he could. :)

Have a ton of fun! We did a few weeks back when we went for a visit. I can't wait for Asher to be begging...I'd live there if I could. :)

Rachel, you should come visit us! The boys would really like it, and we have a pool just their size! You are welcome anytime! =)

Of course I remember Turkey Hill. I was just recalling that experience in my life the other day at a Bible study. Going there really did change my life. I saw people that had a true, genuine relationship with God and I had never really seen that before. I've not always made the best decisions in my life and I'm so thankful for God's grace. But I feel Turkey Hill let me see what life more abundant in Him could look like. I'm forever grateful for you and your family allowing me to come with you. I hope you are having a blast!

That's awesome, Amanda! I'm so glad you went that summer. It really impacted my life too. I think just getting away from the world and focusing on knowing the Lord better and serving Him was so good for us. I hope my kids get to go someday too!
