Haircuts

Crystal over at Biblical Womanhood has decided to host a theme day! So let's share frugal tips every Friday. Sounds like a good idea to me! I am always looking for ways to make our income stretch.
Ladies, this is one of the Proverbs 31 woman's best qualities--the wise use of money. I love verse 11:
"The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain."
Does your husband trust you with the money? Strive to be trustworthy! One way you can do this is to seek out ways to be frugal. This shows your husband that you value the hard work he does for your family.
So my frugal tip for the week is this--learn how to cut hair! Now this is something that I never thought that I could do (and actively avoided for a couple years), but when my sister-in-law bought a clipper set to cut her son's hair, I looked over the directions with her. It's not that hard! Now I'm cutting Dave and Ethan's hair every 4-6 weeks. This saves us over $200 per year!

I used to use a clipper on my boys all the time, and it really is easy! A girl would be different, though. I can't cut bangs straight to save my life, LOL! (Mine are 16, 19, 21 and 23 now. My 21-year-old daughter actually buzz-cuts her boyfriend's hair!)

Oh, I wish I could do this. I tried once and it was such a disaster that I've never tried again. I've decided this would be a really good thing to learn before one is married. I'm planning to have my boys be my guinea pigs - if I have any boys someday! Then maybe I'll get good enough to cut my husband's hair!

Thanks for participating in our first Frugal Friday!

I do this! DH wears a buzz cut, so it's easy. But I still make two passes -- have him shower in between and then buzz again to get any stragglers.

I have cut my husband's hair since we were married, and I agree, it saves a BUNDLE of money!!! I had to learn on my husband's head, and I was so very nervous to start with, but quickly gained confidence! We recently bought a better set of clippers, and a decent pair of scissors. It was worth the small investment--quality is so much nicer to work with!
