We are sick again...pray for us!
"Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. It was Martha who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, 'Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.'
When Jesus heard that, He said, 'This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.'
Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus." John 11:1-5
I read this passage tonight, and the rest of the story too, and just appreciated the care and compassion of the Lord for those He loves. He knows when we are sick, when it is painful and agonizing, and He understands when we (and others) plead for our return to health. He loves us after all.
We have had quite a bit of sickness in our household over the last several months, and I am very ready to be done with it. And yes, we are all sick again - this may be the worst we've had yet! It's been a rough week, and it doesn't look to be leaving anytime soon. :(
But this does not go unnoticed by the Lord, and I was comforted tonight in knowing that He loves me and cares for me and my little family. His ways are not my ways, and I cannot claim to know what He is doing or why He is allowing it. Of course, there are so many others who are suffering much more than we are...we really have no idea what real suffering is like.
I do know that His desire is to bring glory to Himself - and I am praying for endurance to trust Him to do that in this small circumstance. Because my faith is small, you know? I am easily discouraged and disheartened, especially when my fever reaches 104 degrees. :(
Thank you for praying,

Oh Rach, I am so sorry you guys aren't well yet. I am praying that the Lord will encourage your heart, and that you all will get better very soon.
I'm so sorry you all are still sick! We take our health for granted most of the time!
May the God of all peace comfort you and see you through this trial. It's hard to see the kids sick, too.
I'm thinking about you and praying for you all.
Dear Rachel, It is wonderful how the Lord will bring us to certain passages of scripture to speak to us and encourage us. Isn't He kind and loving to do that?! I will continue to pray for you guys that the Lord will bring you to full recovery. Psalm 103:1-5 Love, Mom
Wow! Didn't know you were still in bed! I'm really sorry also - we'll pray for you all!
I am finally learning in my life to allow God to use the 'quiet moments' He gives me to listen to His voice. Sometimes our times like that can turn out to be the greatest times of blessing in our lives - where we learn more of what it means to be at His feet and rely solely on His hands!!!
Oh, and for some extra encouragement today, you might want to check out Nancy's last post :)

Ugg, you must have something nasty!
And trying to care for little ones makes it that much harder.
I'll pray for you - that you all would be on the mend and would receive an extra measure of grace and comfort from Him.
It sounds like its time for Spring and Summer to come. I'll be praying that you all start to feel better with each new day.
yes, it is a very nasty bug...my guess is the respiratory flu, since the fevers have been so high, that and all the other symptoms.
Oh, and today I'm fever free (still sick though), but now everyone else is sick too! :( Dave has missed work all week.
We are praying for all of you guys. Let me know if you need anything.
Hope you guys are doing better by now!
