My creative sister sent me a package a little while ago. Can you spot what might have been in it?
It's a Nester Ragamuffin garland! Now, I know many of you will know just what I'm talking about, but Dave was clueless.
Now, why did she send you a string of rags, again?????
He just doesn't understand, but I love it! Does it look so cute?! I am enjoying it in my kitchen window. Thanks, Ruth!
Speaking of crafts, we did such a fun one yesterday at MOPS. One that I actually came home and wanted to use in my home - and that is saying something. :) I got the idea from my sister (isn't she amazing?!). It's just a painted wooden letter, and we used scrapbooking rub-ons to decorate them.
I came home and immediately hung mine in the bathroom. I love it!

Love it!!! I hope I'll be able to see your house very soon...I'm hoping for a tour. :) I love what I'm seeing in these pictures!
(I also love using words and letters as decor)
Everything looks very cute :) Frankly, I wasn't sure what the point of the ragamuffin thingy was either but it looks great hanging in your window. I think if it was just sitting on a surface in my house or hanging off of a door knob or something it would just collect dust or fall down...
That would make a nice Christmas present. Hint, hint :) Mom
What would, Mom? The letter or the garland?
Pretty!
Have you done some improvements to your kitchen? I don't remember white cabinets. Looks great!
I'm totally in envy of your kitchen! I love the cabinets, countertops, backsplash, faucet...should I go on? :) Everything looks great, and I can't wait to see it in a few weeks!
Nate was confused about the Nester garland too. I made one for A's room one time when he was gone, and when Nate walked in his room again he just stopped and staired for a while...I didn't even try to explain...I mean really, how do you explain it?? :)
I'm SO glad your MOPS project turned out good. Did she end up getting new word phrases, or did the other packages work out okay? Your letter looks great!
Your kitchen looks amazing, Rach! It is beautiful and so functional! How I long for a more functional kitchen!! I love the letter idea! You did a great job!! Thanks for sharing!!
Ohhhhh I like the letter E with the rub ons. Great job! I think your house could be on the Nester-she should do a guest blog about you :)
Jenica,
Yes, we painted the cabinets - several months ago now. Still need to put the last of the drawer pulls up...
Ruth,
I think she was just pressing too hard when she was rubbing, because once we tried it at MOPS, we didn't have any trouble. Everyone really enjoyed it, I think, and we pulled out a bunch of scrapbook paper and stickers that were left over and let people use that too..oh, and some modge podge. :) It was fun.
Kelly,
You have a great kitchen! It has tons of storage, and plenty of room. I would love to have a pantry like yours...someday.
Jessie,
You are too sweet. :)
So for all the dummies out here - what's up with the rags? And Doug wants to know " who's Nester?" :) Sonja
P.S. Your kitchen looks awesome - are you hosting Christmas? Sonja
Sonja,
The Nester is my favorite blog ever - one that my sister found and shared with me, and lots of the rest of us too. It's at:
http://nestingplacenc.blogspot.com/
Anyway, she's just a mom who loves to decorate, especially on the cheap, and she's totally my style. :)
I'm hosting my family this Christmas - I think for the other one, we're out at Kims?
Kari was just telling me how very cute your kitchen was tonight! I have to agree. I love the white cabinets. That is on my list of to-do's, but just feel a little overwhelmed by the task. Did ya'll paint them or did they come like that?
We painted them, Michelle. They were honey oak before. It really wasn't that hard. Let me know if you need help or tips or whatever.
